There is nothing like fresh, in season, local produce! It tastes better, it's healthier, and it's only around for a short time so you're really got to scoop it up while it's available!
While it's a great thing to get excited about local produce, I have other reasons to celebrate this season. Spring means connecting with those farmers that have been hiding during the winter. There are quite a few farmers I'm looking forward to seeing on a regular basis again.
1. Ferris Farm - a locally owned and operated family farm grows some great produce in New Wilmington area. They are fun to follow on facebook as they post what is growing and other family antics.
2. Blueberry Hill Farm - this blueberry farm grows incredible fruit, is a beautiful farm that amazes me how they keep it up, and the owners are a super cute older couple that we love seeing during picking season.
3. Yellow Creek Farm - where do I begin with these guys?! We connected through instagram one year and it is a joy to now share life with these people. Oh, and they have great produce to ;)
Join me in supporting these and so many more local farmers this season. They work hard!!!! I could never do what they do but am so grateful for them.
