Making meals for friends

Posted by Robin Abel on

In the last 15 years, I've probably made about a billion meals for people between that season where everyone is having babies to supporting people during difficult times in their lives.  Having been on the receiving end many times, it is one of those small acts of kindness that reminds you how much people care about you.    This week I made dinner for a friend who had a baby.  I've got quite the system down now.  But it's taken years of taking meals, receiving meals, and figuring out what works best.  Here's a few things to keep in mind...

Event space ready for you

When we looked at possible locations in Zelie, we loved the space we're in now because of the possibility.  Obviously we needed retail space for the local products but this space also has a finished lower level that was open to all sorts of possibilities.  What could we do with all this extra space?  Almost anything!  Our desire is that this space is used by the community for connecting people.  How can we help you connect, get healthy, grab a win for your organization, or enjoy family time?   1. Food bringing people together

Posted by Robin Abel on

Food is really amazing.  It fuels our body, tastes great (well, my kids aren't really sold on a bunch of vegetables but they're still young?), and it has the ability to bring us together.  We use it to celebrate major holidays like Thanksgiving, celebrate milestones like birthdays, and gather neighbors for summer block parties.     Recently my parents meet my mother's siblings to celebrate a milestone birthday for my grandfather.  Living in different time zones, they don't get together much but when they do there are stories told of the event.  Mostly about the food my aunt makes.  She...
