Fresh, local produce is now available

Posted by Robin Abel on

There is nothing like fresh, in season, local produce!  It tastes better, it's healthier, and it's only around for a short time so you're really got to scoop it up while it's available!   While it's a great thing to get excited about local produce, I have other reasons to celebrate this season.  Spring means connecting with those farmers that have been hiding during the winter.  There are quite a few farmers I'm looking forward to seeing on a regular basis again. 1. Beeswax wraps are going to save the world!

Posted by Robin Abel on

Well, maybe not save the world exactly but beeswax wraps can certainly help reduce your waste.  How?  Instead of using plastic wrap to cover leftovers or putting your sandwich at lunch in a plastic bag, you can use beeswax wraps.  Here's a few basic questions about these amazing new kitchen must haves.   1. Turns out, I have a ridiculous amount of jams and jellies in the refrigerator!...

Do you know what a pawpaw is?

Posted by Robin Abel on

Raise your hand if you know what a pawpaw is.  Most of you don't know whether it's something you eat, an animal, or a new app.  That's okay.  I won't tell all the other people who not only raised their hands but shouted "I do!"  (No joke.  They did.  I watched on them on their webcam...)   A pawpaw is a fruit that is surprisingly native to North America.  You'll probably never find it in the grocery store because they are very fragile and not easy to transport.  They have a taste and texture that's a cross between a banana...
