Jam brings us together!

We hosted a few new friends for dinner the other week.  We don't know each other very well so I wasn't sure exactly what to make for dinner.  Breakfast seems to be a pretty safe bet.  The refrigerator was filled with bacon, sausage and eggs and I made biscuits.  Maybe someone would make a breakfast sandwich, maybe eat them all separately, who knows.  But those basic elements gave people a starting point.   The biscuits went out and we started grabbing jams to slather on them. It's funny watching people decide what they want.  With so many choices in our lives, somehow we second guess and over think what the "right" answer is.  With a store filled with a variety of items with numerous choices, I have a unique vantage point of watching the decision making process.  Bowl cozies with different fabric, handmade mugs with different designs from Robyn's Nest and 2 Pears Pottery, unique jelly from Batch and Jarred... the list goes one.  People come in, think about their kitchen, think about what they want, ask the person next to them, ask me... it's quite...

Time to be thankful

'Tis the season to be thankful!  What a great reason to celebrate and remember the many great things in our lives.  In the spirit of thankfulness, here are some the products I'm most thankful for that have been introduced to me over the past 2 years. 1. Spices - Man do I love spices, and good ones!  We transitioned this  year from individual spices towards spice blends and WOW!  Primal Palate and Steel City Salt both make amazing products and I use them almost every time I cook.  So thankful for them! 2.
