Your unique holiday table

Thanksgiving is only a few days away, which is pretty exciting in our house.  My kids love making pies, eating all that great food, and having a few days off school.  For the past few years, we've gone to my parents house for the holiday but this year we are on our own, giving me a small panic attack about having to make all that food, but also gives me time to think about how to make special memories. Living the simple life

The day after a holiday is relatively slow at the store.  Today, people are getting over their sugar induced haze from last nights Halloween activities.  That actually works out well because my lovely son gave me his cold and a slow day allows me to infect less people.  While these days typically drive me nuts, I'll be happy for this one so I can eat my chicken noodle soup in peace.   I'm grateful to live in a town where trick or treat is so much fun and we need a day to recoup from it!  Our family loads up the kids and...

Gadget filled Monday

Oh Monday!  Looked upon by many as a dreaded day of the week. For me, it's an exciting one that I look forward to.  It's typically, usually, sometimes, my day off. When looking at the calendar last Monday morning, I was pleasantly surprised that there was nothing scheduled!  No pick ups, no appointments, no classes, no nothing!  I started the day by taking the dog for a walk at the nearby state park, which is super great and I wish everyone could live 10 minutes away from one. Gluten is not a word I heard growing up.  It's one of those new things that is changing the way we eat and for those of us who don't struggle with such issues, we're not really sure why.  On the other hand, for people who are new to understanding they live with gluten issues, being able to identify and manage their diet is such a game changer.
